Making the average day more interesting... That's me below in the green, snogging the Pig. We've all snogged a few pigs in our lives.

Boring....

I haven’t posted much lately – I’m sure you have noticed.

There just hasn’t been much going on lately, and therefore nothing worth posting about.

I blame it on too much work and not enough play.

Apart from all that, I am going to Italy in June for 3 weeks.

Let me know any suggestions of where to go and where not to go.

Ciao!

Don’t go to Rome. Like Celine Dion, it’s very overrated

Yeah, interesting.
I'm actually not that interested in doing all the touristy things like coliseums, fountains and statues etc.
I'm more interested in visiting little villages on the coast and drinking, eating and mingling with the locals.

You have to go to Cinque Terre - it is beautiful & the food was divine. We went there for 2 days and ended up staying for a week!

Well that is all Rome is TOURISTY. We were meant to be there for 4 days but after 2 I said to my wife, get me the fuck outta here. Stick to the little villages and you’ll love it.

Do you like stock car racing? Thrills, spills, crashing and banging? Sit in a cafe in Naples and watch the traffic. Hours of entertainment! I wouldn't spend too long in Naples otherwise; catch the ferry out to the Isle of Capri (not the one in Surfer's).

I wouldn't write off Rome altogether, though. Sure, the modern-day citizens do make a living by ripping off tourists; but once you recognise this and take precautions, the thousands of years of history is not fake. It *is* what makes Rome one of the world's great cities.

Venice is interesting but expensive. Assisi in Umbria is nice. The Amalfi coast... (ok I'll let someone else have a go...)
