Dear Fellow Bloggers.

How did you get into Blogging?

I got into Blogging by googling a person on the Gold Coast which led me to Russell Allen’s Brisbane Window where Russ was talking at length about this person’s fantastic ‘rack’ I think were his words.

Over the next few days I read more and more of Russell’s past posts and thought that I too could do something similar, but nowhere near as funny, entertaining or interesting. But I thought I’d give it a try anyway.
And I did.
And whether you like it or not, I’m still going.

So thanks Rusty for the encouragement. Anyone who dislikes my blog – you know who you are – you can thank / punish Russell for it.

So, how did you get into Blogging?

I wanted to start writing down all the thoughts in my head. Basically an electronic diary. I felt I'd jumped on too late with the whole blogging thing, but better late than never. I love it.

I got into blogging because I went to Journalism School and thus blogging was part of our "Online Journalism" program. And then of course, everyone in my circle of friends at Uni had one and sooner or later I got sucked it.

But I didn't start getting "serious" about it until I started my writing job last year and thus I had tons to blog about.

OK, not tons, but more...

Somebody I knew was a blogger, and took alot of my email letters to them, and published them on their blog. They got so many comments on their "letters from Honey" section, that they confessed lest I find out myself.
And so the travesty that is my blog was begun. However that was all in afrikaans, and I was a guest writer, then i moved to my own site in afrikaans, then in english, then to blogger, then to wordpress.
And ya sill cant get me to shut the fuck up!
Matter of fact I still (sporadically) post on my original afrikaaner blog. But youd never find it, as its under my real name, and all in afrikaans. tee hee hee

I've always had a journal. I started writing on an old website I hand coded in HTML back in 1998, and moved toward Live Journal in 2001.

I never looked back.

I wanted somewhere to vent...that stopped a while ago but I enjoyed it so much I stayed on. I have seen many fall by the wayside...some said goodbye and some simply just closed shop and left.
I used to write columns for a few papers in NT and SA but it was all humour and travel stuff. I enjoyed it.

I got into it via a friend who said I could make a fun blog up. Then, she roped me into becoming a contestant in Big Blogger, I came second runner up in the end.
So, I am still here too, and not as funny as most of my blogroll mates.

I got dumped and I needed a new side project :)

It's bad I enjoy blogging far more than I enjoyed being in that relationship, yeah?

I was thinking about starting a blog for ages, but didn't much like the ones that I was finding. Then I found one I liked. Then another. Then another (and so on). I decided that once I got a new computer, I'd start one. Then a friend of mine, subjected to my various rants suggested it. I think she also wanted to use it as a way to keep track of the random things in my brain.

I thought up the name - magic bellybutton - because the same friend calls me her "magic" friend, and my bellybutton was itchy when I was trying to think what to call myself.

So about a month after I got my new computer, I started my blog and am now addicted to it. Quite sad really. But Oh So Fun!

There you go. Way more info than you would have liked to know.

How did I get into blogging? Tough question for a geek. It's like When did I realize that I needed to keep breathing in order to live.

OK then, How did I get into non-techo blogging? It was the Queen's Birthday week-end. I was having much less fun with the BAS than usual. (BORING!) I googled for other Brisbane bloggers, expecting lots of other geeks but found MadameBoffin and e-mailed her. Good-looking, but still a geek. Have you seen her solitaire score? I think we've been good pals ever since. She introduced me to Sherdie & Steph. I comment on many of her posts but I leave the ones about ladies underwear alone. Old fogies talking to young ladies about underwear - well that's just weird.

When I want weird I know to come here, Surfercam.

Always kept journals as a kid and some form of a journal/diary as an adult.

Got into the net 1998, but started blogging through a site called www.songmeanings.net, or something. You could write your interpretation of lyrics, or what that song meant to you. I dig music so I loved it.

Then I found that I was writing so much, I could probably make enough to form a livejournal site with it, which I did.

Moved to blogger. I have ups and downs and want to stop sometimes, and other times I cant stop typing.

great topic!
