The Backwards State

Queensland, the "Backwards State", is the only State in Australia that is behind the times and does not have daylight savings.

I know there are a few banana-benders who read this blog, so please participate in this e-petition to have a trial Daylight Savings period.

Please click here.

Nah, we're backwards because of the large number of people whose views coincide with those of Pauline Hanson.

I quite like not having daylight saving!

I hate daylight savings...and I can't wait to move to Queensland so I can be done with the damned thing.

For a start it means I never eat dinner till 9pm and before I know it, it's nearly midnight and past my bedtime AGAIN.

Much nicer to have the sunlight in the morning...go for an early morning walk and swim, get the beach mostly to yourself...rather than kid yourself that you can leave work early enough to fight the unwashed masses at the end of the day when you're tired and homocidal (or am I the only person who feels like that at the end of the day?)

I love daylight savings. Damn those faded curtains and the cows that can't tell the time!

I hate DL savings but I cannot agree with the stupid plan of segregating the lower half of the state and giving them DLS and not us northern neighbours WTF? Where would the cut off be? Bundy or Harvey Bay? Then we will have the same problem as the SE Corner. Either all in or nothing..personally having lived with it in every other state I can take it or leave it. We really do not need it up her in the tropics though :)

Sorry, SurferCam: While DS is a great idea down south, I think it would be wrong for Qld.

It may save electricity in southern states or in past centuries, but in 2007, DS in Qld would mean people coming home an hour earlier in a hotter part of the day, turning their air-conditioners on an hour earlier and global warming will be a bit closer.

That's just ONE of the many reasons why QLD is backwards.

I'll be going now ;)
